The flagship podcast from I Hear That Girl!

Real conversations for Black women becoming again.

The Dope Black Chick is the flagship podcast and storytelling experience from I Hear That Girl!, an editorial media platform created for Black women navigating change, identity, healing, ambition, and intentional living.

Created for Black women 40+, the show explores what happens when the life you worked hard to build no longer fits the woman you are becoming.

Born from I Hear That Girl!

The Dope Black Chick grew from the mission of I Hear That Girl!: to create a place where Black women can see their lives, questions, and possibilities reflected honestly.

The podcast brings that mission to life through deeply personal stories, culturally grounded conversations, and practical insight for women moving through seasons of transition.

It is where we talk about the parts of becoming that do not always fit neatly into an inspirational quote: questioning who you are after achievement, rebuilding confidence, healing emotional patterns, redefining relationships, releasing survival mode, and beginning again after 40.

The Dope Black Chick has its own voice and dedicated home, but it remains part of the larger I Hear That Girl! ecosystem.

These are not stories about starting from scratch. They are stories about starting again with experience.

Creator and host

Kimberly A. Spidle

Kimberly is a storyteller, strategist, coach, and Black woman in the middle of her own becoming. Her work is rooted in the belief that our lived experiences are not detours from the lesson. They are often where the lesson begins.

Kimberly does not speak from a finish line. She brings listeners into honest conversations about what she is learning, questioning, releasing, and rebuilding in real time.

Her role is not to tell Black women who they should become. It is to create the kind of conversation that helps them hear themselves more clearly.

The I Hear That Girl! ecosystem

One mission. More than one way to enter.

I Hear That Girl! is the larger editorial platform behind The Dope Black Chick.

Across every platform, the mission remains the same: helping Black women hear themselves more clearly and move into their next chapter with greater confidence, intention, and freedom.
